Visio Tip-of-the-day: Greeking text

Visio-ing

Do you ever need to take out all of the text in a document to focus on the shapes?

Under Tools > Options, you can Greek all of the text in a document in one go. Pick the point size that you’d like all of the text to Greek. For example, 12 point will Greek all your body copy and anything smaller.

Once you hit OK, you’re not going to see the change until you move to another page.  Also, remember that this will affect the entire document and not just one page.

I usually use this for printing. I’ve found it most useful when you want to have that conversation that isn’t influenced at all by labels or content.

Lately, I’ve been overly frustrated by layers. I should have planned ahead and put them in earlier but didn’t. It’s really annoying to turn layers on and off on a per-page basis because you didn’t plan well.

Just finished Everything is Miscellaneous a couple days ago. (I’m actually now an erratum in the book) Need to read that Wall St. Journal thing now.
